BLAINE COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The American Prairie Reserve has announced the purchase of around 800 acres of land in Blaine County.
The land is located near Cow Creek and within the Upper Missouri Breaks National Monument.
The parcel is next to other land owned by the American Prairie Reserve and is inhabited by wildlife such as bighorn sheep, elk and deer.
According to a press release, this is American Prairie’s 32nd land acquisition. The organization now has over 420,000 deeded abd leased acres.
The new parcel is three miles long and half a mile wide and is located four miles north of the Missouri River.
