HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Although the ski season has come to an end at Bear Paw Ski Bowl, the association that operates the hill has one final event scheduled to cap off the winter.
After two years off due to the pandemic, the Snowdance Ski Association is bringing back their annual Hi-Line Winter Brewfest.
The event will take place in the old North 40 Location at the Holiday Village Mall this Saturday from 4-9 PM, according to Dave Martens Jr.
“We have breweries from all over the state: Sidney, Wolf Point, Glasgow, Ronan, Helena, Phillipsburg, Malta, Wibaux, Miles City, Fort Benton, and of course, our lovely Havre breweries, Triple Dog and Vizsla, will also be pouring beer that evening.”
Wines and ciders will also be on hand.
Live music will be courtesy of the band Sam Platts and the Plainsmen out of Pony, Montana. They have a full band and play western, swing, and country music.
Havre High School Close Up will provide food concessions, while Bear Paw will have their portable merch shop on hand. There will also be cornhole games, drawings and raffles.
All money raised goes back to the Bear Paw Ski Bowl, which is almost entirely operated by volunteers.
“We don’t have a goal in mind, but all of the operating costs that we incur during the year, and any kind of money that we need for improvements. Which there’s some electrical work that needs to be done on the chairlift, as well as some drainage work near the rope tow. All of those things cost money, and having the Brewfest has been a real lifeline for us (to be) able to make some improvements.”
Havre Ford will be providing safe rides home.
Following the brewfest, there will be an afterparty at Shamrocks with more live music from SKIS, a KISS tribute band..
