Beneath the Streets Preparing to Host Fundraiser

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Beneath the Streets is preparing to host a Hawaiian Luau fundraiser on Friday, May 13th at the Eagles Club.

No host cocktails will be at 6 PM, with dinner at 6:30 PM.

Office Manager Christy Owens says all funds raised will go towards repairing the sidewalk, which is in disrepair and has resulted in the only handicap accessible entrance to the underground being closed.

“We are still trying to raise funds for that overall project. We have applied for grants and things like that, but that’s all things that are in the works, and some of them, we have to have matching funds as well. So it’s a work in progress trying to get enough funds raised for that project.”

Owens says anyone looking to donate items for their silent and live auctions or basket raffle should contact them.

The event will include a dinner, games, drawings, and plenty more.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the Museum Monday-Saturday, 10-4. For more information, including information on how to sponsor a table, contact Beneath the Streets at 365-8888.

Owens says they are also preparing for the return of live actors at the museum for Living History Day, which is scheduled for June 4th.

“We’re still working on details for that, but just mark your calendars. We’re planning on it. We hope to have more of the details out after the 1st of May, with prices and times and things like that. We’re hoping to run it quite similar to the way we have in the past.”
