(Billings) – A Billings man accused of threatening to murder U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy appeared today for arraignment on an indictment.
Richard Lee Rogers pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with threats to injure and murder a member of the United States Congress and with harassing telephone calls. If convicted of the most serious crime, Rogers faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Rogers was released pending further proceedings. United States Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan presided over the case.
