BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The Billings Police Department says an officer fatally shot a 36-year-old man on Monday evening after responding to a report of an assault with a weapon.
Billings Police state that officers responded at 11:19 PM to the 4800 block of King Avenue East to a report of a man assaulting a woman with a firearm. The suspect fled in a vehicle when approached, and the shooting took place when he was confronted and pulled a gun on an officer, according to Police Chief Rich St. John.
The investigation is ongoing.
