Havre, MT – Havre high football started official practices as of August 14. The Blue Ponies lost a lot of experience at quarterback, wide receiver, defensive back and on the lines of scrimmage.
Havre head coach Jake Elsdrige soke to how that affects his goal for preseason practices.
“We did graduate a lot of guys from a year ago and so who are going to be the leaders and how are people going to fall into the roles that we need them to fall into.” Eldridge shared. “I think that’s the number one goal of fall camp is just becoming a team and what that means.”
“Obviously the X’s and O’s are a big part of that… but when trust and believe in people that you’re playing with the X’s and O’s don’t really mater it’s more about the team and what we need to do to get the job done.”
Coach Eldridge must build around inexperience with only six seniors and 18 freshmen on the roster. Havre will kick off their season at home on Friday August 29 against the Whitefish bulldogs at 7p.m.
