Blue Pony Football Excited to get Going

(NMB) The Fall sports season is just around the corner. High School Football teams open up Fall camp on August 12th. The Havre Blues Ponies are one of many area teams that are excited to get going. First Year Blue Pony Coach Jake Eldridge says his squad has had a busy, but great summer. “We are in our seventh week right now of our strength program, we’re going at 6:30 in the morning, we’ve been averaging about forty to fifty kids in the weight room which has been awesome and the kids have been working really hard. We got together and went to a little jamboree in Malta as a team and had a chance to scrimmage against both Glasgow and Malta which was really good to kind of get us an understanding of who we had and where people kind of fit. And in June we took the team down to the Montana Tech Football camp for three days.

When Havre begins practice on August 12th Coach Eldridge explains what the first order of business will be. “Kind of get the kids all together and get them to understand what our expectations are as a football program. From how we handle ourselves in the classroom, off the field and obviously the way we expect to practice and play.”

The Blue Ponies will hold their annual blue/white scrimmage on August 20th and will open the season on the road August 26th against Sidney.
