State Class ‘C’ boys’ basketball action took place on Wednesday night from the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls and the No. 1 seed out of the Northern ‘C’ Box Elder kept on winning, beating No. 2 seeded western team Harrison by the final score of (76-59).
The Bears utilized their patented backcourt pressure to force eight Wildcats turnovers in the first half and take a (39-20) lead into the halftime break. Harrison showed better signs of offense in the second half, but were unable to outlast the much more potent Box Elder attack.
Tracen Jilot again led the Box Elder scoring barrage, putting in a game-high 25 points. He was one of three Bears in double-figures as Tuarie Stiffarm-Rosette contributed 18 points, while Dreyden Anderson added 17. In a losing effort, Andrew Bacon stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points for Harrison.
The Wildcats will be in loser-out action tomorrow morning starting around 10:30am, while the Bears will be in the second boys’s semifinal against Harlowton-Ryegate, the No. 1 seed out of the Southern ‘C’. That game will air on KPQX-92.5FM and HiLineToday.com around 8pm Thursday night, while we also pick up in the girls’ bracket with No. 2 seeded Northern ‘C’ representative Big Sandy playing the No. 1 seed out of the Western ‘C’ in Twin Bridges. Coverage begins around 1:30pm of that contest, also on KPQX-92.5FM and HiLineToday.com.
