HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The City of Havre and Lakeside Excavation have reached an agreement to have Lakeside finish the Bullhook Storm Drain Improvement Project. Lakeside says that they were a bidder on the original project.
The project began in 2016 by a Mesa, Arizona contractor. In the fall of 2016, it entered into default and has been uncompleted ever since with open holes in 4th Avenue and the alley of 2nd Street. The City of Havre, which still has funds for the project, will have Lakeside work on the south section first.
Owner Tyler Smith says, “It is long over due to get this work completed. We are happy to be working on this project for the City of Havre. We ask the public to be patient with road closures and out crews working in the right-of-way.”
Work will progress for the next 90 days in the 4th Avenue area and then in the alley of 2nd Street. They will work on getting sections completed as they progress.
