Commerce Awards Grants to Enhance Native American Tourism

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that the Blackfeet Nation, the Chippewa Cree Tribe, and the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe will share over $118,000 in Tribal Tourism Grants to help venues related to tourism emerge from the economic impacts of the pandemic.

The Blackfeet Tribe is receiving $50,000 for the restoration of the racehorse track and rodeo arena, and to expand bleacher seating.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe is receiving $50,000 for the Chippewa Cree Tribe Powwow Grounds Enhancement Project.

And the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe is receiving $18,957 for the new management of the Hell Creek Recreation Area’s website, booking system, and advertising campaign.
