HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – As Thanksgiving approaches, many volunteers are getting ready for the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Organizer Debi Rhines says the event is funded by an anonymous donor and they will be offering a traditional Thanksgiving meal free of charge to the community.
“This dinner was started, we think maybe 22, 23 years ago by a generous community member who wanted people to be together on the holiday. And so we carry on that tradition. We offer a full Thanksgiving meal; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, relish and pumpkin pie.”
Rhines says that they will deliver meals to the homebound between 9 and 10 AM on Thanksgiving.
“We do deliveries for the homebound. We ask people to call the North Central Montana Senior Citizen Center to order a meal. That phone number is 265-5464. Those meals need to be called in by 4 PM on Wednesday.”
Dinner will be served from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at St. Jude’s Parish Center. Meals for the homebound can be ordered by calling the Havre Senior Citizens Center at 265-5464. Delivery requests must be in by 4:00 PM on Wednesday.
