COPS Grant Update from Superintendent Brian Gum

(Havre) During the last Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees meeting, the board reviewed and approved the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grant proposal that has been in the works for months.

New Media Broadcasters caught up with Brian Gum, Superintendent of Havre Public Schools, who explained what the COPS grant actually is and what it will be used for.

“So the COPS grant was actually written a couple years ago, with the intent of updating the bells, potentially display boards in the building, paging systems, along with the emergency management systems in the buildings. So right now, where we’re at with the grant, is we’re going to go into all of the buildings, including Robins, and update the bells, paging, and emergency management systems.”
