HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – With the federal government providing emergency approval for the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for individuals between the ages of 12 and 15, local health departments are announcing plans to provide the vaccine to those that are interested, with parental permission.
In Hill County, the Pfizer vaccine will be available for the newly authorized age group on Thursday, May 20th from 11 AM-4 PM at a walk-in clinic at the flu clinic at Northern Montana Health Care. Parents with questions can call 262-1585.
The Rocky Boy Health Center says that they are currently offering the Pfizer vaccine to the newly authorized age group, and residency on the Reservation is not required. To schedule an appointment, call 395-1655. There will also be a mobile vaccine clinic at Old Stone Child College on May 18th and at the Volunteer Fire Department on May 20th.
Blaine County’s Health Department says they will include this newly approved age group in their upcoming vaccination clinics, the next of which is on Thursday, May 20th from 3-7 PM in the Commercial Building at the Fairgrounds in Chinook. Those with questions can call 357-2345.
The Pfizer vaccine is currently the only COVID-19 vaccine authorized for those between the ages of 12-17. The Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccines are authorized for those 18 and older.
