HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The fourth edition of Dancing with the Havre Stars is set for this Saturday at 7 pm at the St. Jude’s Gymnasium.
This event pairs six local celebrities with professional dancers from Utah Ballroom in a family-friendly fundraising competition.
Bullhook Community Health Center CEO Kyndra Hall says the money raised from this event goes towards funding their mobile dental unit.
“We are still trying to build up that fund so we can get that mobile unit to be able to provide services to people who can’t necessarily come to the clinic for those services,” Hall says. “Also to be able to reach some of the head start and outlying areas where it’s just not easy for them to travel.”
Hall adds that this year’s version of Dancing with the Havre Stars will be similar to last year’s, but with a few twists.
“The theme this year is music icons,” Hall says. “So they’ll be dancing to different songs that relate to music icons. We do have a new voting avenue this week. Along with voting with your tickets and being able to buy additional tickets at the event, we will open up online voting which when we open it up we will post on our Facebook and our web page.”
The local celebrities this year include MSU-Northern Instructor Charlie Mack, Oxford Bar Owner Will Devries, Bullhook pharmacist Cindy Brandon, Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation President Garrett Hanson, Murphy’s Manager Renessa Galland, and Bullhook Treasurer Dana Springer.
The professional dancers from Utah Ballroom will also be doing several preview shows around town, including at the Boys & Girls Club on Tuesday at 4:30pm and at Timbercreek Village Friday at 2pm.
Tickets to the show are $20 for adults, $10 for ages 10-17 and free for children 9 and under. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 395-4305
