HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – New Year’s Eve is here, and Hi-Line Tavern Association wants to remind people that there is a year-round designated driver program to ensure people get home safely.
There is the year-round Designated Driver Ticket program, which provides sober drivers with free non-alcoholic drinks at local taverns and casinos and enters them into drawings to win up to $500.
However, the Safe and Sober program, which has provided free rides on New Year’s Eve in Havre, will not be available today.
A representative from Havre Ford says with bars mandated to close at 10 PM and the potential for drivers to be exposed to COVID-19 by passengers, it didn’t make sense to run the program this year. They expect to bring the program back next New Year’s.
