Dinosaur Skeleton from North-Central Montana Going Up for Auction

NEW YORK CITY (NMB) – A complete dinosaur skeleton from central Montana is going up for auction later this month.

A skeleton of a Gorgosaurus, believed to be from 77 million years ago, will be up for bidding on July 28th at Sotheby’s Auction House in New York City.

It was unearthed back in 2018 in the Judith River formation.

The Gorgosaurus was a relative of the T-Rex. This skeleton measures nearly 10 feet tall and 22 feet long, and is expected to be purchased for upwards of $5 million.

This is the only skeleton of this species that is not already in a museum’s collection.
