(Havre) – On Monday, Northern Montana Health Care celebrated the first class of graduates in the certified medical assistant apprenticeship program. Commissioner of the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, Sarah Swanson attended the celebration and explains how this apprenticeship partnership between NMHC and Montana DLI happened.
“We are so proud of Northern Montana Health Care and the eleven graduates that were part of the first class. This is the first registered apprenticeship program anywhere in Montana specifically for medical assistants and we could not have done it without Katie Kimberling on staff at Northern Montana Hospital. She knew they had a need and an opportunity to both hire more medical assistants within their facility and they had the resources to train them in house but didn’t know how.”
