HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has announced angling restrictions on several rivers due to warming water temperatures and low flows.
The restrictions mean fishing is closed from 2 PM to midnight on the following rivers until further notice:
- Beaverhead River from the mouth to Laknar Lake Bridge
- Smith River from the confluence of the North and South Forks to the Eden Bridge near Great Falls
- Sun River from the mouth of Muddy Creek to the Highway 287 bridge
- The entire Jefferson River
- The Lower Big Hole River from the confluence with the Beaverhead River to Notch Bottom FAS
In addition, the following rivers have full fishing closures:
- The Shields River from the mouth to Rock Creek
- The Upper Big Hole River from Saginaw Bridge to the North Fork Big Hole River
