Fort Assiniboine Will Have Discounted Living History Tours

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Saturday, June 1st, historical attractions around Havre will be hosting “Living History Day”. Chairman of the Fort Assiniboine Preservation Association Ron Vandenboom says they will be offering their traditional wagon tours from 10:00 AM to 3 PM.

“Instead of the regular $10 fee, it will be $7 for adults and $5 for the younger people, free for the kids under 6. In addition, we will have a free meal, pulled pork sandwiches.”

The Black Powder Club will also be showing off their guns and giving demonstrations.

“The Black Powder Club here in Havre is going to be there. They always have a great display of antique firearms as well as their cannon. They always bring that out. And the kids love pulling the cord and hearing that huge bang that thing sets off.”

The day at Fort Assiniboine will also feature people dressed in historic costumes and free food. Most of the buildings at the fort will be open for people to check out.
