Fort Belknap DES Addressing Lodge Pole Flooding

LODGE POLE, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Belknap Indian Community’s Disaster and Emergency Services Department is addressing cleanup from flooding in the Lodge Pole area.

To ensure the public is protected from health hazards, they recommend residents take numerous actions for the next two weeks.

Area residents are asked to refrain from utilizing their wells/water due to possible contamination, and refrain from using septic systems as much as possible.

Portable toilets will be set up at each home and drinking water is available at the Chief Nosey Center.

Those with questions should call 406-390-0749.

This comes after severe storms made their way through the area on Wednesday, bringing large hail and rapid rainfall to the southern end of the Fort Belknap Reservation.

More severe storms are possible through the rest of the work week.
