Friday’s Spring Fling Fundraiser Will Support Athletic Scholarships

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation’s Annual Spring Fling Fundraiser will be happening Friday night at the MSU-Northern Gym. Garrett Hanson, President of the NLASF, says they have several event packages that people can bid on.

“We have about 20 live auction items this year. Obviously, we always have the popular Cabo trip. This year we have a new fishing trip over in the Flathead. Also, we have the Charlie Russell Chew Choo, the dinner train down there out of Lewistown. And also, we have a night on the town here in Havre for ten people.”

Hanson says this is their largest fundraiser for the year and they money helps to recruit new athletes.

“Last year, after all of our fundraisers, we were able to give the college roughly $140,000 towards student scholarships, and, you know, we’d like to do more. With the competitiveness with the Frontier Conference, it’s always hard to recruit kids to Northern, and with these extra scholarship dollars, it sure helps to get these kids here.”

Doors open for at 5:30 PM. The evening will feature dinner, live auctions and a dice roll that could win you $25,000.
