HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Great Northern Fair Board met Tuesday night for their regular meeting. Chairman Tyler Smith says that they have hired Frank English as their new manager with the 2019 fair only four weeks away.
The Fair Board previously tried to hire English as their manager in May. However, the Hill County Commissioners told them they couldn’t hire him as a contractor, as the managers position doesn’t meet the standards set for an independent contractor. The Board had to advertise for the position again, this time as an employee of the county.
The Great Northern Fair Board has been without a manager for over a year, after David Brewer resigned in March 2018 amid a budget crisis.
