HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The office on the Great Northern Fairgrounds will be moved for this upcoming fair after a water break this spring caused damage. Fair Board Chairman Tyler Smith says updating or moving the office was already one of their concerns, but the water damaged fast tracked that issue. They will be putting up some walls in the old museum building.
“The Board decided to have the office in the old museum building because structurally, that building is in a much better place. During the fair, we will utilize what they call the Senior Citizens building for ticket sales and fair stuff so it’s not so far out of the way.”
Smith says that they will remove the office building and make that space available for other uses.
“We’re going to tear that down and make space there for, you know, food truck, mobile food vendors that, you know, want and utilized that space. So the utility hook-ups that are there for the office in that space will still be utilized, just not by the office.”
Smith says that the permanent new office will be near the old museum building. Their next regular meeting will be held Tuesday, May 21st at the Timmon’s Room in the Hill County Courthouse.
