HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Wednesday’s free Havre Community Christmas Dinner at the Eagle’s Club was once again well-attended.
Dinner organizer Tom Farnham says 767 people ate the turkey meal, up five from last year. He says the weather had an impact on that total.
“When the weather is nice like it is this past week, people can travel, go places and do things. The take-outs were over 300. It was like 330. The rest of them came down to eat, have fun and enjoy the day.”
Farnham adds that this dinner is made possible thanks to the generosity of the community.
“For the donations from the businesses and stuff was great as usual. And we have a Secret Santa that also donates money to it. So overall, it was fun and a good time by all.”
Farnham says there were around 50 volunteers in total helping put the dinner on, including around 20 providing the delivery service.
