Havre Man Arrested for Alleged Felony Assault with Weapon

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Havre man was arrested early Monday morning by authorities after allegedly threatening to kill both his spouse and police officers.

Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says officers received a report of a domestic disturbance at 3:11 AM Monday on the 500 block of 2nd street. A woman had arrived at the Police Department to report that her spouse, 45-year-old Francisco Valencia, Jr., had threatened to kill her with a box cutter.

Three Havre Police Department officers arrived at the scene, and Matosich says they used a Taser on Valencia after he threatened to kill them. The officers were uninjured.

Valencia was arrested and taken to the Hill County Detention Center on several pending charges, including felony assault with a weapon, partner or family member assault, resisting arrest, obstructing a Peace Officer and a probation violation.

Valencia remains in the Detention Center without bond.
