HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Havre man that was transported from the Hill County Detention Center to Northern Montana Hospital after suffering medical issues is facing pending charges that include felony escape after allegedly trying to run away on foot.
A press release from the Hill County Sheriff’s Office says Joshua Reid, 41, was transported to Northern Montana Hospital at around 9:29 PM Friday night. While in the process of being released from the Emergency Room, Reid attempted to escape and ran out of the doors of the hospital, pushing past a nurse who observed him running toward the doors.
A Detention Officer chased down Reid and placed him back into custody. During the foot chase, Reid allegedly attempted to assault the Detention Officer. The Officer was not injured.
For this incident, Reid faces pending charges of felony escape, felony assault on a peace officer, and misdemeanor resisting arrest. Reid’s bond is listed at $250,000.
Reid has another bond of $25,000 for a probation violation, and is facing pending felony charges of partner or family member assault (3rd or subsequent offense) and burglary. That case is being investigated by the Havre Police Department, and no bond has been set.
Reid is also in the middle of another separate case, in which he is charged with felony forgery and theft by common scheme on allegations of forging over $9,000 worth of checks in the Havre area.
Back in 2017, Reid was found guilty of felony theft by embezzlement and given a suspended sentence of 60 months for using a Duck Inn company credit card to make unauthorized purchases. He then sold the purchased items, which had a total value of nearly $4,000, to pawn shops.
