
HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees held a meeting at Havre Middle school Tuesday, June 9.
Some of the agenda items on the docket included the continuation of the Montana High School Board Association (MTSBA) service, the approval of the Montana High School Association Dues, Catastrophic and Concussion Insurance, the approval of changes to new school year handbooks and the request by Cottonwood school district to pick up students in Havre.
The board approved the continuation of the MTSBA service, which provides school districts reduced insurance premiums. This membership will be for the 2020-2021 term and will cost a total of $11,328 which is $222 less than last year’s fee.
The board then approved the Montana High School Association Dues, Catastrophic and Concussion Insurance for athletic programs. The total cost for this is $4,750.00 for the 2020-2021 school year.
The third agenda item approved was the new school handbooks for the 2020-2021 term. The new changed in these handbooks reflect COVID-19 guidelines and protocols. One of the changes allows school principals to augment graduation ceremonies due to unforeseen circumstances.
The request by Cottonwood School District #57 to enter the Havre School District to pick up students was also approved by the board.
