Havre Salvation Army Family Store Reopened Friday

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s Salvation Army Family Store reopened it’s doors Friday after being closed for about eight months. General Secretary for the Northwest Division Jonathan Harvey says he saw hundreds of people come to the store Friday despite the wet and chilly weather. He says they are still in need of volunteers.

“We want to continue to encourage community members to get involved. This is, again, a community-based store. We sort of changed our model, as it were. And so we’re really encouraging community members to get involved and volunteer, whether that’s a couple of hours a week or whether that’s more than that. There’s plenty of opportunities working within the store.”

Harvey said that people were excited that the Thrift Store has reopened and the new look of the store went over well. All of the proceeds from the Family Store support the programs at the Salvation Army’s Emergency Services.
