Havre School Board Elects Officers, Sets Curriculum

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Tuesday, Havre’s School Board of Trustees held their regular meeting at Havre Middle School. Superintendent of Schools Andy Carlson calls their May meeting a “housekeeping meeting” where they reviewed their curriculums and seated a new board member.

“There’s a lot of pieces for the trustees. They set their schedules for the year. We do a lot of our curriculum work during that time. Mr. Mueller presented curriculum in both P.E./Health and Science. You know, it’s just It’s a lot of pieces that are pretty typical for the May Board Meeting.”

Carlson said that they have one new board member and one incumbent who were elected this year.

“So it’s good to have Teresa Miller back again, and then Brian Williams is going to be serving his first term with the Havre School Board. It’s also the School Board realignment, where they elect the Chair and Vice Chair. That stayed the same. Aileen Couch will stay as the Chair and Harvey Capellan will serve as the Vice Chair for another school year.”

Graduation will be held on Sunday, May 26th in the Havre High School gymnasium. Carlson says they are still looking for a high school math teacher for next school year.
