HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – In May, Havre Public Schools will be getting ready for their Class of 2019 commencement ceremony. Superintendent Andy Carlson says graduation will be on Sunday, May 26th in the Havre High School gymnasium. Carlson says that they have also made a significant change in the ceremonies this year.
“Typically, graduation is at 4 PM, but they’ve moved it up a couple hours to 2 PM. One of the primary reasons for that is I know a lot of people like to get together after that and hold something for their graduate at their homes. Many folks have a connection to a lot of these kids, so they’ll travel from one area to the next. And, so they’ve moved it up a little bit to accommodate that.”
Carlson says that there are about 120 students who may be graduating this year.
“Up to 116 graduating. Now that doesn’t count our early graduates. So, they’ll be back and I think we had eight early graduates this year. So, we’re looking probably, I’d say around 120 students total.”
Carlson says high school history teacher Jacob Criner will be their commencement speaker.
