The Havre Blue Ponies battled Dawson County in a double header Saturday. The Blue Ponies defeated Dawson County (12-8) and (17-1) in the two matchups, Havre now sitting at (7-1) overall on the season.
In the (12-8) victory, Havre was able to take the lead late in the game from the (7-7) tie. The game winning hit was a triple by Lizzi Haney, scoring one run. Havre collected eleven hits on the game while Dawson County had thirteen. Havre’s Avery Carlson, Camille Keeley, and Jersi Morse all hit a homerun in the game.
In the (17-1) victory, Havre scored nine runs in the first inning and never looked back. Avery Carlson drove in runs on a walk in the first, a single in the second, and a tripe in the fifth. Blue Pony’s Pitcher Elle Verploegen allowed only three hits and one run over five innings, with eleven strike outs.
