The Havre Tennis teams were forced to play inside at Cut Bank over the weekend because of the weather. Nonetheless, the teams had two duals, one with the hosts and one with Conrad. Here are some notable results:
Round 1 was a matchup between Cut Bank and Havre with the Blue Pony boys winning (4-3) and the Blue Pony girls losing (5-2). In boys’ singles, Wyatt Jelly was the only Havre player to win his match (6-2), but Havre swept all three doubles matches with the Spangler brothers (6-2), Reid Kato and Callen Stoner (6-1), and Mason Kinsella and Carter Chagnon (6-0). For the girls, Tyley Hemmer was a singles winner, (6-3), while the doubles pairing of Heather Herring and Alera Chandler got a victory, (6-1)
Round 2 was a dual between Havre and Conrad with the Blue Ponies winning over both the Cowboys and Cowgirls, (4-3). Herring and Chandler again won their doubles match in a thrilling tiebreak, (6-5), while the duo of Chloe Bricker and Mylee Shennum won as well, (6-1). The story was the same for the boys, who got a singles win from Aiden Nitz, (6-3) and were victorious in the doubles portion with Max and Carter Spangler as well as Kato and Stoner, (6-1) for each.
The tennis team will have a long layoff between matches as they will not play again until Apr. 5 in Havre, hosting that Invite.
