HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Authorities have released the name of the Havre woman who was killed when the vehicle she was driving on Monday afternoon was struck head-on on US Highway 2 by a pickup truck attempting to pass a semi.
The Hill County Sheriff’s Office says 73-year-old Loretta Park was pronounced dead at the scene near mile marker 387 after the westbound Honda Accord she was driving was struck head-on by an eastbound Dodge Dakota that was attempting to pass a semi, according to the crash report. Park was wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Dakota, a 29-year-old Havre woman who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Benefis Hospital in Great Falls. The severity of her injuries are unclear.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected factors.
