HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – For the third straight year, the Toys for Tots program is helping families in need in Havre this holiday season.
Local organizer Jennifer Tilleman says they want to help over 70 families this year, and are looking especially for toys for older children.
“The Salvation Army hasn’t previously been able to, to my understanding, be able to take care of toys for those older kids. That is the area where we get the most requests for, so if people are dropping off those toys, it’s always appreciated to keep those older kids in mind.”
Tilleman says the Toys for Tots program has grown so much over the last few years in Havre that she may not be able to put the time into making it run next year.
“It is my goal to keep this program in Havre as long as we possibly can. I’m just going to need a little bit of help. Rome wasn’t built in a day, of course, but it takes more than one person and often a lot of time. I have been pretty fortunate with all the companies and organizations that have offered to host donation boxes and things of that nature, but there’s a little bit more that goes into it, that unfortunately you just need more than one person to do.”
Unwrapped, new toys can be dropped off at any of the following locations in Havre between now and December 14th:
- Bergren’s Transmission
- Edward Jones Financial
- Hi-Line Rental
- Holden’s Hot Wheels
- Independence Bank
- Pacific Steel and Recycling
- Havre Ford
- Lodestar Land and Home
- Koefod Agency
- Fifth Avenue Christian Church
- Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Jerry Taylor’s office
Families in need of toys can contact the Salvation Army’s Havre Service Center to sign up.
