The Big Sky Games, which are the de facto Olympics held in Montana, were played over the weekend in Billings. For the city of Havre, its dance troupes led the way in medals. All told, 15 placers were groups or individuals from the Pride of the Hi-Line’s Studio of Dance and Arts.

Havre strong suit was in the junior jazz category. Saniya Duckett captured a gold for her solo showing of “Wings”. Bella Bricker scored a silver medal for her performance of “Heartbreaker”. Rhaegan Gauer did a solo performance of “Never” and was given a bronze medal.

Four ballet dance teams were winners. In the duo/trio group, gold went to the mini category for “This Little Bird” and silver was won by “Yellow Bird”. Two more mini groups took home medals as gold went to “Winter Song” and “My Bonnie Lies”.

Moving to contemporary dancing, Harper Humphreys did a solo performance of “I’m A Star”, which was worthy of a gold medal. Halle Turner performed “Like You” and also claimed gold in the junior solo category. The junior dance team grouped together for a performance of “Burn It Down” and was given the gold medal.

In the hip hop/funk category, there was a Havre win, as a petite duo/trio category performance of “Sit Still Look Pretty” was gold medal good.
