Havre’s Salvation Army Will be Re-Opening May 17th

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Grand Re-Opening of Havre’s Salvation Army Thrift store has been set for Friday, May 17th. Salvation Army’s General Secretary for the Northwest Division Jonathan Harvey says that they will have a ribbon cutting that day around 11 AM. He asks the community to drop off their donations at the back door of the building between the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.

“Unfortunately, if donations are left after hours, then there’s a tendency for people to go through them or, obviously, it could potentially rain or something, which then destroys those donations and makes it impossible for us to use them. So, we do ask to drop off donations. We need that support, but please do that between 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.”

Harvey says that they have changed the structure of the store, which used to be run by a manager and paid staff.

“We have a Volunteer Coordinator, a volunteer manager that runs our volunteer program and she will also oversee the store as well. We’ll have a couple staff members, but we really are calling on the community to come and be a part of this with us.”
