HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission convened on Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting and unanimously approved numerous resolutions and contracts.
Among the approved items:
- A resolution affirming active participation in the Bear Paw Economic Development District in the amount of $21,250
- A resolution creating a budget for the receipt of the $3,201,824 the County received in federal ARPA funds
- A resolution transferring $170,000 of Hill County’s $1,191,119 in minimum allocation ARPA funds to Hingham for wastewater system upgrades.
- A contract designating Hill County’s allocated alcohol tax dollars for the 2023 fiscal year. Just as they did last year, 85 percent of the funds will go to Bullhook Community Health Center, while the remaining 15 percent will go to the Bear Paw Recovery Center
- A memorandum of understanding with the Montana Wool Growers Association that will have Hill County pay $377 in annual dues, which will go in the MWGA’s predator control fund. The dues increased by $10 compared to last year.
- Approval of a payment to Wilderness Funeral Homes of $1,250 for the indigent cremation of Jana L. Rogers. Wilderness Funeral Home also requested another $49 to cover the cost of seven death certificates, but the Commissioners were unsure if they were required to pay for this and will be speaking with the Funeral Home.
