HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Local Democrats recently elected officers for the Hill County Democratic Party during its county convention on May 28th.
According to a press release, State Representative Jacob Bachmeier was elected to a second term as the party’s Chair. Former party treasurer Susan Somers is the new vice chair, succeeding Carol Ortman. Ron Kling was elected to serve as the rural district vice chair. Mia LameBull was elected to a second term as secretary and Scott Strobel is the new treasurer.
Carol Ortman was also elected to be the state committeewoman; Joe Skornogoski was selected to be the state committeeman; Brenda Skornogoski was elected as the first alternate state committeewoman; Joel Hagen is the first alternate state committeeman, and Lindsay Ratliff is the second alternate state committeewoman.
The officers are also planning their 2019 Politics in the Park BBQ in Pepin Park on July 27th from 1 to 3 PM. This annual event is held in memory of Pam Hillery and Toni Hagener. Their theme is Working Montana Families and they will feature eight 2020 statewide Democratic candidates and live music.
