HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Hill County Officials from various departments met in the Timmons Room of the Courthouse on Wednesday morning for their monthly meeting.
Commissioner Mark Peterson announced that the Beaver Creek Dam spillway project has been completed. He stated that they are continuing to work on other projects that will be utilizing COVID-relief dollars, including the project for replacing the RSID 29/30 lift station, which they hope to have go to bid in the next few weeks. When it comes to the Milk River Levee upgrades, they continue looking for additional funding sources after their competitive ARPA-funding request was rejected. And for replacing the Courthouse HVAC system, Peterson said that bids are coming in higher than they expected, and they are still waiting on more numbers.
Commissioner Jake Strissel said they are working with Great West Engineering and the DNRC to get long term monitoring gauges for stream and flow measurements at Beaver Creek.
Human resources Director Brittany Pfeifer said that they still have many job openings and continue to seek two Deputy County Attorneys. Pfeifer added that County Attorney Lacey Lincoln is reviewing the proposed credit card policy for employees that has been drafted.
Steve Martin with the Sheriff’s Office said they have 10 open job positions at the Detention Center and two Deputy positions open.
County Planner Amy Ferguson said they’ve hired a full-time person to deal with litter control at the landfill.
