GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – On Monday, a Honduran man changed his plea to guilty in District Court in Great Falls. Jose Ventura-Padilla entered his guilty plea to illegal reentry to the United States without a plea agreement in place. His December trial was vacated and his sentencing has been set for January 23rd in Great Falls.
According to court documents, Ventura-Padilla was found in Havre without having express consent of the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission into the United States. Ventura-Padilla had previously been deported and removed from the United States in August 2010 after having been convicted of a felony in the Southern District of Texas in November 2009.
