Havre, MT – Skylights basketball at MSU-Northern is off to a 4-2 overall start and 1-1 at home after a 74-58 victory over Stephens College last Saturday. In the month of December, the Skylights will host four conference games without traveling on the road.
The Skylights will host 11 total conference games this season as part of a 22-game conference schedule. After defeating Providence on the road to open conference play and getting a split with a win at Bellevue and loss at Dakota State, the Skylights sit at 2-1 in conference.
Head coach of the Skylights Chris Mouat knows that defending home court will be the foundation to conference succus this season.
“Well when half of those trips are going a few states away, it’s really important to play your best at home. I think the teams that can win on the road are the ones that your going to see in the final eight in the conference tournament playing to do something. The more you can at home the better. we’ve stolen a couple on the road already, we’re proud of that, but it’s a long season with a lot of games so there is a lot of basketball to play. but for us home is home and we want to be here.” Coach Mouat said.
The Skylights host Dickinson State on Saturday December 6 at 5p.m. and Bismark State Sunday at noon.
