(Montana) Sextortion scams are becoming increasingly more prevalent in Montana, and the most common demographic is 15-year-old boys.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) has a new resource that puts you in their shoes, called the No Escape Room, which is an online interactive experience meant educate users on why and how sextortion scams work.
According to NCMEC, reported enticement incidents rose by 300 percent between 2021 and 2023.
No Escape Room is a free resource that follows a ‘choose your own adventure’ format, and throughout the simulation, safety information appears to aid in the learning process.
