Kremlin Man Killed in Saturday Crash ID’d

KREMLIN, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the Kremlin man killed in a head-on crash on US Highway 2 on Saturday afternoon.

20-year-old Jaden Peet was pronounced dead at the scene after the GMC Sierra he was driving westbound at mile marker 368 crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Chevy Silverado head-on just after 5 PM.

The driver of the Silverado, a 33-year-old Havre man, was treated for minor injuries at Northern Montana Hospital.

The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles, and neither was wearing a seatbelt.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Alcohol and excessive speed are suspected factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Along with the Hill County Sheriff’s Office and Montana Highway Patrol, the Havre Fire Department also responded to the scene, as well as Fish and Game, which helped route traffic around the crash.
