Land Donation for Potential Northern Equestrian Center Finalized

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State University Northern Foundation has officially announced the reception of a 43 acre parcel at the west-end of Havre.

The gift was donated by the family of Ron and Patty Harmon and will be used for future projects or buildings for the University.

Northern has been working to create a multi-purpose equestrian arena on the property in the near future. They are currently in the preliminary stages of a feasibility study.

The land is just south of US 2 and off of 2nd Street West. It has never been developed and is in close proximity to the University, the railroad, and downtown.

Northern Chancellor Greg Kegel has said he hopes that an enclosed event center could be used for a variety of events, from car shows to rodeos.

The MSU-Northern Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that acts as a fundraising arm of MSU-Northern University.
