Havre, MT – The Lights Basketball team gets their season started at home Friday afternoon hosting Walla Walla University. After finishing runner-up in the Frontier Conference championship game last season, there’s high hopes this year for the Lights team.
Head Coach of the Lights Shawn Huse caught up with NMB Sports earlier this week and he shared what he thinks the identity of this year’s team will be.
“What we’ve always been about, if you’ve watched us play over the years you know that nobody plays harder. Nobody has better chemistry on than we do on defense and offense both,” Huse shared.
He then spoke about how his team is getting ready in the offseason to be able to bounce back and attack this new season.
“We’re excited about the start of our season; we’re excited about who we are and where we’re at. We’ know that there’s a lot of work to be done, a lot of games to play, and a lot of ups and downs to go through as the case in any season in any sport.”
The Lights will start their season off with a couple of non-conference games this Friday and Saturday. They’ll welcome Walla Walla University to the Armory Friday afternoon at 2 p.m., and then head down to Great Falls to battle with Bushnell University Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
