Spokane, WA – The MSU-Northern Skylights Basketball team saw their season begin last weekend playing a couple of games in Spokane, WA.
The Skylights were able to leave Spokane with a perfect 2-0 record with a thrilling 78-73 overtime win over Southern Oregon Saturday, and then capping it off with a 75-69 victory over Eastern Oregon on Sunday.
Head coach Chris Mouat was pleased to see his team come away with two early victories but knows there is still plenty of work ahead as the season gets underway.
“These were big wins for us, nothing we’re going to take lightly we’re definitely going to enjoy them. We have two more national tournament teams next week.” Mouat Said
“We’re out of the gate with four teams in a row all who played in the national tournament last year, but we’re off to a good start, but we still have lots to learn from.”
The Skylights will have time to practice and prepare before their next road game at Nelson University in Texas on November 6th
