Lights Finish Road Trip 3 and 1

(Angwin, California) The MSU Northern Lights basketball team finished their weeklong California road trip with an 84 to 61 win over Pacific Union College on Monday Night.

The game was back and forth in the first half and was tied at 31 a piece at the break. The Lights used a strong second half out scoring Pacific Union 53 to 30 and cruised to the 84 to 61 final score. As a team Northern shot 45 percent from the floor, 32 percent from the three-point line and was 10 of 13 from the free throw line. The Lights turned 18 pacific union turnovers into 22 points, had a 12 to 4 advantage on the offensive glass and scored 36 points in the paint.

The Lights were led by Zackry Martinez’s 30 points. Dae’Kwon Watson chipped in with 29 points. Xavier bailey and JJ Thomas each pulled down 7 rebounds.

With the win the Lights finished the road trip with 3 wins and 1 loss.

The Lights will be back in action Friday and Saturday when they take on Corban University and Embry Riddle University in Helena.
