Lights Have Two Wrestlers Finish Second

MSU-Northern wrestling standout Isaak Bartell finished with a second place finished at 197 pounds at the N. A. I. A. championship tournament in Wichita, Kansas. Bartell made his way to the championship round with a fall and tech fall in the opening rounds. He then moved to the championship with an 8-7 win in the semi-finals. In the championship round Isaak lost to Zane Lanham of Life College by fall in the third period. Bartell closes out his stellar career as a national champion, a national runner up, a five time All-American and the all-time career win leader in Northern wrestling with 168 wins.

At 141 pounds former Havre High School standout Martin Wilkie made his way to the finals with a pari of decisions and a tech fall. In the finals Martin met the defending national champion at 141 pounds, Baterdene Badlma out of Doane College and it was Badlma who picked up the win with a 5 and 2 record7th place finish and All-American status.

While Nakota Siekel took 5th place at 174 pounds going 6 and 2, he also finished as an All-American. In the team standing Grandview College easily outdistanced the field for the team championship and the Lights to 6th and the University of Providence was 29th.
