(NMB) The Montana State University Northern wrestling team has a busy week. They will be in Ashland, Oregon for a dual with Southern Oregon on Wednesday night, and then will travel to Reno for matches against Eastern Oregon and St. Ambrose University on Friday and will stay in Reno to compete in the Reno Tournament of Champions on Sunday. Head coach of the lights Tyson Thivierge says his team better be ready for Southern Oregon on Wednesday.
“Southern Oregon is a team that’s really climbing in the ranks again. They had a couple of off years gut they’re back. They’re really, really tough on the mat. They’ve been doing a really good job the last season and a half. That’s one our boys have got to be ready for.” -Thivierge
With so many matches in a short amount of time, the message in practice has been, be ready to wrestle when the time comes.
“We’ve got to be ready to wrestle when the time comes and that’s really what we’re talking about right now at practice. We’re going into hostile territory. Going out there, imposing our will and being ready for a fight.”- Thivierge
After this Busy week on the Mat, the Lights will be off until after the new year when they travel to Dickinson State on January 11th.
