
HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Commerce has announced that four Montana communities are sharing nearly $100,000 in funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program.
These grants will support planning of critical infrastructure and community development projects.
The city of Malta is receiving $37,500 for a levee certification feasibility study to assist them in certifying their levee system.
The town of Fairfield is receiving $22,500 for a capital improvement plan to assist them in planning and budgeting for infrastructure improvements.
The city of White Sulphur Springs is receiving $30,000 for a capital improvement plan to prepare for changes associated with the Black Butte Mine.
And the town of Stevensville is receiving $7,500 to assist with ADA compliance components of Preliminary Architectural Report for a renovated or new building for the North Valley Public Library.
CDBG planning grants are available to eligible counties, cities, towns, and local governments. Local governments may apply on behalf of special purpose districts, unincorporated areas, or on behalf of non-profit organizations. Counties may also apply for planning grants on behalf of Tribal utility authorities.
